Getting Your Home Ready to List? 

One question we get asked often from people that are considering putting their house up for sale is what should they do in order to get their house ready to list. Most people that have decided to sell their current home have already looked online at the MLS to see (a) what their competition looks like, to understand where they are in terms of value, and (b) what listings are available in the neighbourhoods they are considering moving to. And by gong through the MLS, in many cases you will see listings of homes looking their best, including features such as:

 

  • freshly painted walls

  • freshly painted kitchen cabinets

  • new stone kitchen countertops

  • California shutters and other new window coverings

  • newly updated flooring

  • finished basements, and the list continues!

 

 

There are several factors to consider before taking on a reno WITH SELLING YOUR HOME IN MIND. One of the most important factors is your return on investment. The last thing you want to do is spend $50,000 finishing off your basement only to get back $20,000 back when you sell.
